As we approach the upcoming Labor Day weekend, we will bookend a challenging summer season. One filled with missed celebrations, cancelled annual traditions and quiet milestones. While our case numbers have remained steadily low, we must not let our guard down.

When making plans for the approaching weekend, remember that COVID-19 is still out there, it is still highly contagious and it is still an immediate threat to our way of life.

Remember the resilience and safety of our entire community relies on the pro-active vigilance of its individual members.

This short video of a community member is a strong reminder that COVID-19 is still very pervasive and can easily affect your life and those of your loved ones:

COVID doesn't care about your Labor Day plans. COVID-19 doesn't take weekends off! Neither should your pre-cautions and careful actions to prevent contamination of this virus. Keep up the good work!

Still steadily growing: 8,594 COVID-19 cases surround us here on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. #MaskUp #WashYourMitts
